From May 15 to May 22, Poly Auction Hong Kong Co., Ltd. (Poly Hong Kong), in conjunction with Soka Art Center is about to hold “Aspiration - Hong Ling Solo Exhibition” at Poly Auction (Hong Kong) Gallery, the exhibition is curated by Dr. Xia Kejun, covering 14 oil paintings and ink paintings created by the well-known artist Hong Ling, fully presenting the spirit of Chinese landscape in a Chinese contemporary art style.

Hong Ling has lived in the Huang Mountains for 20 years, and we can see the correspondence between his inner mind and nature’s mystery in his works. Hong Ling consciously puts the spirit of landscape painting into his painting. On the one hand, his paintings looks like traditional colored ink paintings of landscape, but they are richer than the traditional, Hong Ling uses oil painting colors to interact with natural scenery, the ancient green, grey green and dark green on the screen create a new poetic flavor; on the other hand, it enriches the color of Western oil painting, and it looks more natural, integrating time into the sense of color, and it is full of affection.

Hong Ling’s landscape painting makes use of big blocks of fuzzy fog, as well as dripped “muddy dots” to build an overall atmosphere, especially when large blocks of snow cover the screens, the entire work is covered by a kind of intrinsic coldness, which is solemn and stately.

Hong Ling likes snow figures, reviving the snow figures of the traditional landscape painting, using his own style. The exhibition presents the painting “Silver Wave”, the snow figure is filled with a cold atmosphere, with a kind of pure temperament, to express the feeling of Hong Ling.
