Jointly hosted by the Modeling and Printmaking Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts as well as the Printmaking Community of China Artists’ Association, “Circumstances of Visualization—Exhibition of Screen Printing from National Art Colleges” is unveiled on June 10th, 2011. Organized by the Studio 1, Printmaking Department of CAFA, this exhibition intends to review and summarize the developments of silkscreen printing in China over the past three decades, and it attempts to order the teaching framework and an academic skeleton.
The theme of this exhibition—“Circumstances of Visualization” has a double meaning: on the one hand it refers to the artistic features of silkscreen printing; while on the other hand it denotes that silkscreen printing has emerged from multiple environments within contemporary art. As there is an unambiguous developing situation, it can manifest itself with youthful vigor and inner vitality as a new artistic form. With its’ outstanding status highlighted, we believe its’ potential development is inevitable.
It’s reported that this exhibition is going to be held from June 10th to 30th, 2011 at CAFAM. A seminar will be held on June 10th, experts and scholars from nine academies of fine arts gather and explore related issues on creations and teaching of contemporary silkscreen prints.
