The 13th National Exhibition of Fine Arts is presented in the National Art Museum of China, which features a lineup of carefully selected and award-winning works that depict the new epoch in China.
The exhibition showcases a total of 573 artworks, which were selected from among over 4,000 works from 13 exhibitions across the country, including 37 award-winning works and 62 nominated works from the Third Chinese Fine Art Awards.
According to Tie Ning, the Chairwoman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the 13th National Exhibition of Fine Arts covers a wide range of media including Chinese painting, oil painting, sculpture, architecture, graphic design, experimental art and so on. These artworks focus on everyday people, different communities and symbolic snapshots of China’s development, showing remarkable changes and progress in the country and moments in Chinese history.
Fan Di’an, the Chairman of China Artists Association and President of China Central Academy of Fine Arts, mentioned in his speech that, the 13th National Exhibition of Fine Arts highlights the latest achievements of Chinese artists which could also be taken as an artistic gift dedicated to the 70th birthday of the People’s Republic of China. Thanks to the outstanding contributions from senior artists including Zhou Lingzhao, Quan Shanshi, Chang Shana, Liu Wenxi and Jin Shangyi who have won the title of Artists with Lifelong Achievements from the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the development of Chinese fine arts in the 20th Century has a solid foundation for future generations of artists.
“Chinese Fine Arts Award” is the highest national award in the Chinese art world, and its creative awards are born from the selection process in the National Exhibition of Fine Arts. The winning works of the Third Chinese Fine Arts Award also include art design, mixed media painting and experimental art… Art design contains a wide variety of categories in art, from graphic design to environmental design, from architectural design to interior design, from arts and crafts to industrial design, from decorative design to fashion design…it includes all aspects of human and social life. It is worth mentioning that the mixed media painting and experimental art corresponding to the category of contemporary art, are included in the National Exhibition of Fine Arts, which reflects the cultural wisdom and innovative awareness of the organizers.
The exhibition will remain on view until January 14th, 2020.
