The world we live in is filled with fast development, information explosion, anxiety and fickleness, the cruelty of reality is quickly and thoroughly displayed in front of everyone. Can arts become our shield against troubles, helplessness, cruelty, sadness? Can arts give us some relief from the heaviness of our life? Can arts open another window and show different scenery for us? ... All of these questions don't necessarily mean this exhibition merely focus on the superficial happiness by avoiding problems in our daily life or purposely avoiding incisive criticism. It is more important to curate the exhibition to give us a chance to find possibilities--- to widen or change perspectives, to try to understand the way people think, to see life with a rather critical attitude...

MoCA Shanghai invited 7 young artists whose styles differ from each other to accomplish this exhibition. From this exhibition, we can observe how they explore, build, trim and perfect their artistic (spiritual) system and use the system as their unique power and mind shield. Though various in styles, they shared common features: their artistic researches are all quite clear and with a broad vision; not confining themselves as so-called "artists", they tend to explore in multiple fields; they manage to present their own unique styles through their creations while trying their hand on various kinds of media. In this exhibition, the museum provides individual space for each artist, fully displays artists' creative ideas and builds a unique atmosphere. When walking towards to their creation, people may experience different expressions; a space may make you feel like it is a shelter for soul, or the center where the brainstorming is happening, or a space which sits right in the middle of the world of reality and hyper-reality.... Through the procedure of getting contacted with artists and appreciation of their works may change audience's perspective of viewing the world, or may broaden audience's vision.
