This thematic group exhibition features more than 150 artworks by 45 outstanding Chinese oil painters from national academies such as Dai Shihe, Ding Yilin, Hong Ling, and Xin Dongwang, reflecting their achievements in sketching in the past decade. Through sketching nature, they rebuild the relations between art and real feelings. It is of special realistic significance in such a consumption art era when the art conception and imagine becomes more and more stylized.
All the artists taking part in the exhibition share a common concept, that is, they all advocate the Chinese traditional abstract spirit and they all aspire to contribute to the development of freehand oil painting with a Chinese breath. They re-understand and experience the role of “painting” in contemporary art in the collision between sketch and freehand, and emphasize the blend of emotion and natural spirit, so reflect their different conceptual orientations.
