Mao Lizi is a famous Chinese contemporary artist, a leader of China “Star Painting Group” in the 1970s and the 1980s who changed the appearance of Chinese contemporary art, led Chinese painting to the road of freestyle painting. This Mao Lizi’s solo exhibition features a total of more than 30 works, including the perfect combination of realism and freehand “Painting Knives”, “The Residual Lotus” series, a pure abstract style of “Abstract” and “Flower Not Flower” series, to show excellent realistic techniques and an unique creative style of Mao Lizi thus offeringa strong visual impact to the guests.
The organizer says, the holding of Mao Lizi’s solo exhibition, in addition to presenting Mao Lizi’s works to the audience, it is more important to transmit the artistic ideal of the“Star Painting Group” that emerged in China in the 1970s and the 1980s, where Mao Lizi was one of the representatives, so that people are able to improve their understanding and appreciation of the works by Chinese contemporary artists, meanwhile promoting the value of Chinese art to the world.
The exhibition is about to open in Shanghai Duolun Museum of Modern Art at 16:00 on May 17, 2014, and will continue until May 28.
