In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, “The Grand Picture of Our Time: Selected Collections from the CAFA Art Museum”, an exhibition co-sponsored by the National Centre for the Performing Arts (abbr. NCPA) and the Central Academy of Fine Arts (abbr. CAFA), was unveiled at the East Arts Gallery of NCPA on December 16, 2024.

Centered around the theme of modernized construction of the People’s Republic of China, the exhibition showcases over 70 pieces (series) of masterpieces from the collections of CAFA Art Museum, featuring works by acclaimed artists including Xu Beihong, Lin Fengmian, Wu Zuoren, Wang Shikuo, Wu Biduan, Ai Zhongxin, Dai Ze, Ye Qianyu, Jin Shangyi, Wang Yidong and so on. With a narrative thread through four sections including: “Great Hardships in Pioneer Work”, “New Looks Between Heaven and Earth”, “The Grandeur of River and Mountains”, and “New Quality Innovations”, “The Grand Picture of Our Time” unfolds a magnificent scroll of Chinese modernization.

The opening ceremony was attended by Wang Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CAFA Party Committee, Liu Lan, Deputy Secretary of NCPA Party Committee, Jin Jun, Director of CAFA Art Museum, Han Wenchao, Secretary of the Directly Affiliated Party Branch of CAFA Art Museum, Liu Yuxiao, Director of the Arts Department of NCPA and so on.

The exhibition remains on view till March 15, 2025.
